Minister of Education Hospitalized

On Saturday, June 7, 2025, Augustin Antoine, the Minister of National Education, was admitted to the hospital following a fall at his home, resulting in a double fracture to his right foot. According to a medical source, the Minister underwent surgery at a hospital in Delmas. His condition is reportedly stable.

Owner of the Beau-Rivage Hotel Executed

Elie Limage, an 84-year-old Haitian-Canadian businessman and owner of the Beau-Rivage Hotel, was shot in the head by members of the "Kokorat San Ras" gang responsible for his kidnapping. He was abducted from inside his business in Gros-Morne and held captive for a week. His lifeless body was found near his home. This execution follows the inability of his family and loved ones to raise the $300,000 ransom demanded by the gang for his release, despite partial payment. Hibert Sénéac, Mayor of the commune of Gros-Morne, noted that two other people kidnapped at the same time as Eli Limage are still in the gang's hands.

The commune of Delmas under high tension

Sporadic automatic weapons fire was reported in several neighborhoods, including Delmas 33, 41, 65, and 75, on the evening of Saturday, June 7. Lifeless bodies were discovered in several locations, including Delmas 19 and 31.

Gang clash in Lilavois

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, an automatic rifle, two large-capacity circular magazines filled with ammunition, seven passports, and four birth certificates were seized by the Departmental Service of the Judicial Police of the North and the Cap-Haitien Intervention Brigade during an operation conducted in the locality of "Doubaï", commune in the Plaine du Nord region. Raynald, the gang leader, and two of his accomplices unfortunately managed to escape police capture.
