Haiti - Security : Beyond the battlefield, the Mission prepares for everything...

The Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) security teams held a joint emergency preparedness and response exercise at their base. All Mission contingents (Kenya, Jamaica, Bahamas, Guatemala, and El Salvador) actively participated in the exercise, along with medical teams from the Aspen Level 2 Hospital and members of the local community.

The primary objective of the exercise was to strengthen the operational capacity of the MSS and ensure the safety of personnel and the local population, particularly in the face of gang attacks, civil unrest, or natural disasters. It also aimed to maintain the mission's ability to respond quickly and effectively, minimizing potential collateral damage and loss of life during this critical phase of operations.

Under the supervision of Mission Commanders, this exercise was part of a series of joint simulations previously conducted by the mission's security teams. It comes at a crucial time, as Mission officers, working with the Haitian National Police (PNH), have regained control and are now ensuring the security of key infrastructure previously occupied by gangs, including communications towers, the IGPNH, and the National Police Academy.

As decisive operations continue, the MMSS security teams remain fully committed to ongoing collaboration on security and training to build a safer Haiti. By bringing together diverse expertise, Mission members ensure seamless coordination of daily security operations, reinforcing the mission's commitment to stability and resilience.
