Haiti - Culture : 2nd tour of Follow Jah !

After a first tour, which brought together the Centre Socio-culturel Rasin Lespwa of Darbonne, the Cultural Center Brazil-Haiti Celso Ortega Terra of Petion-ville, the Center of Communal Initiative of Kenskoff and the Music School of Sainte-Trinité, the second tour will lead the group FOLLOW JAH in several institutions of the country, devoted entirely or in part to the cultural animation.

Since its inception in February 2001, the walk band (bande à pied) FOLLOW JAH is evolving to Petion-ville on the occasion of carnival and other traditional festivals. For several months, it diversifies its activities by putting its skills to the service of the community through activities of education by art organized by Tamise and UNICEF to promote hygiene.

On the other hand, itset up a specific directory for the stage, carried by six musicians selected from the 17 of the walk band. It is this work that will be shown for the first time during the tour of December.

The institutions visited will be the following

  • Cultural Centre Anne-Marie Morisset (Delmas 41), on Friday, December 16 at 5pm

  • CCultural Center Léocadie Alexandre Kenskoff (Mirebalais), Saturday, December 17 at 5pm

  • Campus Cange Zanmi Lasante (Cange), Sunday, December 18th at 3pm

  • Cultural Center Pyepoudre in the premises of the School Marie Eugenie (Port-au-Prince), Tuesday, December 20 at 3pm

  • Innovation Night Club of Cabaret, in collaboration with the Cultural Center Pyepoudre, for the schools of the area Wednesday, December 21 at 3pm
