Sunrise Airways : Baggage Allowance Review

Any baggage exceeding this limit must be shipped via our cargo services and will incur an additional fee. Exception: Passengers traveling on international routes are allowed one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 23 kg.

7th day of total blackout

The Péligre hydroelectric power plant, forcibly shut down by protesters from civil society associations in Mirebalais and Saut d'Eau, grouped within the platform Initiative Mirebalais pour une nouvelle République (IMINOR), has remained shut down since May 13, 2025 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44914-haiti-flash-general-blackout.html . The authorities have taken no steps to restart the plant or negotiate with the protesters, leaving neighborhoods in the metropolitan area plunged into a general blackout. 3 PoliTOUR agents suspended

Joe Biden : Aggressive Prostate Cancer:

Former President Joe Biden (82) has been diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of prostate cancer, the former president's office announced on Sunday, May 18, 2025, specifying that the 82-year-old Democrat had "metastasis to the bone". "Although this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-dependent, allowing for effective management of this incurable cancer."

Counselor Voltaire Visits the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H)

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, Presidential Advisor Leslie Voltaire paid a courtesy visit to the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H) base in Tabarre. This visit allowed Voltaire to reaffirm the Presidential Transitional Council's (CPT) commitment to supporting efforts to combat insecurity. During the visit, the need to strengthen the FAd'H's material capabilities was highlighted to enable them to more effectively play their role in the fight against armed gangs.

Semi-finals of the Song Contest for Mothers

The semi-finals of the 3rd edition of the Song Contest for Mothers, entitled Manman se senbòl lespwa,ann chante pou n onore yo, took place on Saturday, May 17, 2025. After deliberation by the jury, ten finalists were selected for the grand finale, which will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Karibe Convention Center.
