"As part of the great football family, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) wishes a happy birthday to Violette AC, the oldest Haitian club founded on May 15, 1918, which celebrated its 107th anniversary on May 15, 2025. Tribute and honor to all generations of managers, players, and supporters of this club, which embodies more than a century of passion, glory, and resilience in the service of Haitian football. Happy birthday to the old tiger!"

Police officers trained to join BOID
Several police officers are being trained to join the special forces of the Departmental Operations and Intervention Brigade (BOID). Strengthening the effectiveness of the National Police's specialized forces against criminal gangs is one of the strategies adopted by Acting Police Commander Rameau Normil as part of his action plan. With this in mind, several police officers have received tactical and technical training to join the BOID. These newcomers are motivated and have demonstrated their determination in the fight against terrorist gangs.

Flag Day, Spending Criticized
"In 2023, the Ariel Henry government spent 90 million gourdes to celebrate Flag Day in Cap-Haitien and the rest of the country. This decision was sharply criticized by Fritz A. Jean, who was then President-elect of the Montana Accord. Two years later, the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), chaired by the same Fritz Jean, is preparing to spend between 300 and 400 million gourdes to celebrate Flag Day [...] While armed gangs control 90% of the capital, with an increase in lost territory. More than 1.4 million people are displaced, and our law enforcement agencies lack everything [...]," laments André Michel.

Community Mediator Training
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the project "Strengthening social cohesion through the training of community mediators led by women, to encourage children to defect from gangs and prevent their recruitment" was launched. "By transferring skills in conflict analysis, negotiation, mediation, and peace education to women, we are investing in their talent, which can prevent violence before it erupts," said Maria Isabel Salvador, Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH).

16th Cocoa Festival
The 16th Cocoa Festival in Dame-Marie (Grande Anse Department) paid tribute to a tradition initiated in 1982 by agronomist Ferney Piou. Since 2014, the women's collective "Fanm Trafkad" has been locally processing cocoa into various artisanal products, despite logistical challenges related to insecurity. "We are fighting women," said Magui Julien. For Piou, this event embodies local resilience and highlights the importance of cocoa in the region's economy and cultural identity.
