We pay tribute to all journalists who have died or disappeared in the line of duty, those who braved danger to ensure that the truth is never slandered. My government is working tirelessly to eradicate problems related to insecurity so that every journalist can practice their profession in complete peace of mind, without fear or hindrance.

On Friday, May 2nd, 2025, as part of this celebration, Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, made an official visit to several media outlets in the country, including the daily LeNouvelliste, Radio Télé Scoop, and Radio Télévision Caraïbes.

During this tour, the Minister met with the managers and journalists of these media outlets, praising their work and commitment despite the many challenges they face.

The Minister placed particular emphasis on the strategic role of the media in promoting justice and combating impunity. He emphasized that the press contributes to informing citizens about their rights and responsibilities, denouncing abuses, and encouraging transparency and accountability in public institutions.
