Haiti - Economy : BRH intervention at the Round Table on Inclusive Green Finance

On April 25, 2025, on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) participated in the Public-Private Dialogue Roundtable on Inclusive Green Finance, organized by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).

BRH Governor Gabriel Ronald emphasized the urgency of integrating environmental considerations into financial policies, particularly for countries like Haiti, which are highly exposed to climate shocks.

Governor Gabriel presented several initiatives illustrating the BRH's commitment to inclusive and sustainable finance :

• The National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (SNIF), developed with the support of the World Bank;

• The National Financial Education Plan (PNEF), designed in partnership with the AFI;

• Support for the development of Fintechs, governed by Circular 121;

• Facilitation of agricultural credits, through Circular 108, and green refinancing, established through Circular 113;

• Support for environmentally oriented SMEs, notably through the Booster PME project;

• Implementation of credit moratoriums to support borrowers during times of crisis (Circular 115-6).

These initiatives aim to strengthen access to financial services for all, while supporting the ecological transition.
