On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at least five members of the Canapé Vert Vigilance Brigade were killed and several others injured after falling into a trap while attempting to dislodge armed bandits from the "Viv Ansanm" coalition in Pacot and Haut Turgeau.

Several bandits were reportedly fatally injured during the clashes.

Reacting to this killing, in a note, "[...] The Presidential Transitional Council expresses its deep dismay at the attack perpetrated on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, against members of the Canapé Vert Brigade by heavily armed individuals, which unfortunately claimed the lives of several brigadiers and injured several others.

The Council extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved families and their loved ones, and expresses its solidarity with all the victims of this unspeakable act of violence, as well as with the severely affected population."
