Friday, December 9, 2011, was held the signing ceremony of the "Project of reconstruction of the system of water supply of the town of Ennery." This ceremony was held at the offices of the Japanese Embassy, in presence of Mr. Kentaro Minami, Japanese Ambassador to Haiti, Mr. Joseph Jouthe, Executive Director of the Local Agency for the Integral Development of Youth (ALDIJ ) and of Mr. Marc André Dubois, Mayor of the municipality of Ennery.

This project of an amount of USD$137.936, is part of the program APL (in the form of grants to local micro-projects) from the Japanese government, it includes :

- The complete rehabilitation of the distribution network ;

- Repair of fountains of the town of Ennery and the sanitation of their immediate vicinity ;

This project of drinking water supply, whose execution will be ensured by ALDIJ, has two objectives :

- Mitigating the risk of waterborne diseases suffered by many residents of the town of Ennery;

- Reconstruction of health facilities following the damage recorded in the passages of Tropical Storm Jeanne in 2004 following hurricane Anna, Ike and Gustave.

Through the program, APL, Japan continues to support efforts to improve the basic needs of human life in Haiti.
