Haiti - Politic : Intervention by Leslie Voltaire at CELAC (Video)

Presidential Advisor Leslie Voltaire, accompanied by Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, Minister of Foreign Affairs, represented Haiti at the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, from April 7 to 9, 2025.

In his remarks, Leslie Voltaire expressed the Haitian people's deep gratitude for the constant attention they receive within CELAC.

Emphasizing that "[...] No one should be unaware that the insecurity we are experiencing in Haiti is fabricated and maintained from abroad by obscure and mafia-like forces through the illicit trafficking of drugs, organs, weapons, and ammunition..."

He emphasized the urgency of increased mobilization around concrete solidarity actions in the face of the growing insecurity affecting the daily lives of Haitian citizens and called for more sustained regional cooperation to address it.

"[...] our Nation needs a surge of solidarity, concrete actions to combat insecurity, and real support to rebuild hope. The time for rhetoric is over, but for commitment."

On the sidelines of the summit, Councilor Voltaire held several bilateral meetings with heads of State and Government to strengthen cooperation and implement training programs for security forces, similar to the one developed with Mexico.
