In Haiti, violence strikes innocent people, and my heart breaks every moment. Once upon a time, my country radiated hope and culture, and my hometown, Mirebalais, was a true haven of life. Today, brutality has deprived us of this privilege : in Mirebalais, as elsewhere, entire families are forced to flee their homes, driven out by certain compatriots who sow terror.

I call for an end to this violence that kills so many innocent people. It is time for our country to be freed from the tyranny that suffocates it and keeps it in darkness. I hope that a surge of solidarity and understanding will replace fear with trust, and that justice will heal the wounds of our Nation.
