Haiti - FLASH : The Ministry of the Interior strengthens controls on foreigners in Haiti

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities (MICT) informs owners and managers of hotels, inns, and similar accommodations throughout the country that they are required to provide the Ministry with all information relating to the identity of foreign nationals staying in their establishments. In light of this obligation, hotel establishments and/or similar establishments must regularly register foreign guests by collecting the following information:

First and last name, date and place of birth, nationality, passport or ID number, length of stay, contact number and digital contact information, as well as any potential references in Haiti.

This information must be transmitted to the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities, via the Foreigners Control Service of the Directorate of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) within 24 hours of guest registration, at the following email address : die@mict.gouv.ht.

This provision is part of the strengthening of security and control measures in the national territory. The Ministry counts on the full cooperation of the establishments concerned and has already instructed the DIE to conduct periodic inspections. Any person violating these provisions will be punished in accordance with the law.
