Haiti - Security : National Palace Security Officer Shot and Wounded

Patrick Pélissier, Minister of Justice and Public Security, expresses his strong solidarity with Inspector General André Jonas Vladimir Paraison, Head of Security at the National Palace, who was shot in the leg during an operation conducted at the Champ de Mars by the special forces of the Haitian National Police (PNH) while he was helping police officers in difficulty during an attack at the Port-au-Prince Police Station.

The Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) and the Prime Minister's Office reassure that the life of Inspector General Paraison is not in danger and deplore this incident, which only strengthens their determination to involve the specialized units of the PNH and the FAd'H in order to restore security and allow the population to freely go about their business. The CPT and the Prime Minister's Office express their solidarity with Paraison.

"This act of bravery, accomplished with an exemplary sense of duty, once again demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our law enforcement to restore peace and security in the country," said the Minister.

Minister Pélissier salutes with respect and admiration the courage of Inspector General Paraison, whose dedication to the national cause inspires and sets an example, while sending him his wishes for a speedy recovery. Let's specify that his life is not in danger and that he continues to give instructions to his agents remotely...
