Friday, February 7, 2025, in a speech to the Nation delivered at the Villa d'Accueil, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 39th anniversary of the fall of the Duvalier dictatorial regime, Leslie Voltaire, the President pro tempore of the Transitional Council, called for unity in order to address the country's major problems, particularly insecurity, recalling that February 7 symbolizes the acquisition of the inalienable rights of the population.

He acknowledged that the country's democratic achievements are under threat and that fear is omnipresent, he also said that 39 years later "the terror of gangs has replaced the terror of political dictatorship" affirming "We cannot accept losing the conquests of 1986 for which so many Haitians fought at the cost of their lives."

Voltaire called for unity to restore security in the country, emphasizing that Peace is not only the business of the State, but of each citizen, affirming "[...] Haitians must work together to restore Peace at home and restore the pride of our country."
