Haiti - Security : Demolitions continue near the Airport

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, as part of the security work at Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé made a follow-up visit on site.

The Prime Minister was able to see the significant progress of the demolition work undertaken on the outskirts of the airport to create a security buffer zone in order to guarantee a secure environment that complies with international standards.

Strengthening the security of Toussaint Louverture International Airport is a priority for the Government. Like the fight against insecurity, this initiative is of paramount importance in efforts to revive economic development and strengthen Haiti's international ties.

Currently, the Government is making every effort to update the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure that the airport fully meets the safety and quality standards required by this international institution.

Fils-Aimé reaffirms his commitment and that of his Government to return the international airport to service as soon as possible, while ensuring the conditions necessary for the protection of passengers and staff.
