Haiti - Referendum : Nearly 2,000 candidates for BRD and BRC positions have passed the selection exam

On Sunday, January 19, 2025, approximately 2,000 candidates (for all 10 departments) interested in the positions of members of the Departmental Referendum Offices (BRD) and the Municipal Referendum Offices (BRC), took a selection exam in preparation for the Referendum on the revision of the Constitution that the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) wishes to organize during the month of May 2025 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43992-haiti-news-zapping.html

Patrick St Hilaire, President of the CEP visited the assessment center located at the National High School of Pétion-ville. During his visit, he welcomed the enthusiasm of young people to become members of the electoral staff through referendum offices. President St Hilaire announced that for West I and West II, there were 645 registered for the BRC and 190 for the BRD.

The police were present to ensure the security and smooth running of these selection tests.

According to Jacques Desrosiers, Media Representative at the CEP, the candidates selected for the BRC and BRD will be assigned to the Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and the Communal Electoral Offices (BEC) after the referendum.
