Haiti - Economy : Multi-sectoral emergency program, checks handed to 140 MSMEs 20/12/2024 08:45:24
On Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Montana Hotel, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, in the presence of Ministers James Monazard (Commerce) and Georges Wilbert Franck (Social Affairs and Labor), handed 140 checks to representatives of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) identified across the country's various departments during a ceremony, marking concrete support for the most affected entrepreneurs. This initiative, led by the Government with the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is part of the Multisectoral Emergency Program for the Support and Social Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups. Intended for 250 MSMEs, this financial support aims to strengthen the capacity of these companies to overcome current economic difficulties and contribute to the revival of their activities. In his speech, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of rapid and concerted action in the face of the major challenges facing the country. He recalled that MSMEs play a crucial role in the national economic fabric and deserve special attention in this period of crisis. He praised the courage, resilience and commitment of Haitian entrepreneurs, who continue to work for economic revitalization despite a complex national context. HL/ HaitiLibre
