Haiti - FLASH : Formal denial from the Mission, who is telling the truth ?

Reports circulating on social media suggest that around 20 Kenyan police officers would have handed their resignations in the past two months due to salary delays and poor working conditions, three officers who spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media told Reuters. The officers have reportedly received no response to their resignations and continue to serve in the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS)...

Godfrey Otunge, EBS, OGW (SAJG) Commander of the multinational force categorically denies the allegations. "Reuters has not contacted the Mission for clarification, and the reports are both incorrect and malicious. All members of the Mission have received their salaries, including their monthly allowances, and no officer has handed its resignation as alleged.

Mission officers remain highly motivated and fully committed to supporting the Haitian National Police (PNH) in conducting decisive operations to dismantle criminal networks and restore stability.

We call on all stakeholders, including local and international media, to seek clarification directly from the Mission before publishing information. Our doors remain open for transparent communication.

Note that although Reuter did not seek clarification, the agency maintains its version.
