WHO deeply concerned by escalating violence

"I am deeply concerned by the escalation of gang violence in Port-au-Prince and its impact on health. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a key partner in Haiti and the recent closure of its five health facilities will have a major impact. Since March 2024, access to health care has been extremely limited across the country, with less than a third of hospitals functioning normally. We must ensure the safety of health and humanitarian workers, so that they can help the Haitian people in difficult times," said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization.
