Haiti - Gas Cylinder Explosion : Mechack Jerome, His Wife and a Cousin Hospitalized

The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) learned with shock of the tragic accident that occurred on the night of Thursday to Friday, November 1, 2024, at the family home of former International Grenadier Mechack Jerome (34 years old), caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder in his house in Bellevue located near the city of Omaha in Nebraska.

The former international defender, captain of the national team and former Baltimore SC player, was cooking in the garage of his residence when a gas cylinder exploded, witnesses reported to the fire department.

At least 7 people were inside the residence including his children. His wife and a cousin are said to be in critical condition. Mechack Jerome is said to be in a less serious condition.

This news, which has just reached us, has deeply upset us. We extend our wishes for a speedy recovery to Mechack Jerome, his wife and his cousin, all hospitalized since this morning. We sincerely wish them to overcome this difficult ordeal and to fully recover their health and well-being.
