Friday, August 23, 2024 as part of his official tour in the North Region, which ended on Saturday, August 24, the Prime Minister, Garry Conille, after his visit to Ouanaminthe on the site of the Maribaroux Plain Irrigation Canal https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-43057-haiti-news-zapping.html whose water intake is on the Massacre River, source of conflicts with the neighboring Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40503-haiti-flash-dr-closes-its-land-sea-and-air-borders-with-haiti-goods-and-passengers.html , had an important meeting with members of the Northern Chamber of Commerce (CCN) and the Organization for the Management of the North Destination of Haiti (OGDNH).

During this meeting, he also discussed health, security and electrical issues. Other points such as : the management of the border, the Port and the Airport, as well as the Prospects of Public-Private Partnership, to achieve better governance of the Northern Region of the country, were on the agenda.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister, accompanied by members of the Government, visited the Dominican Industrial Development Company (CODEVI) nearly 20,000 Haitian jobs, located in the Ouanaminthe free zone and then the Park Industrial Caracol (PIC) to assess their operating conditions.

It was also an opportunity for the Head of Government to discuss with officials the challenges and opportunities and even future prospects for the sustainability of these two Industrial Parks as job providers and economic generators for the country.
