Haiti - SONAPI : Inauguration of a Fire and Rescue Center

James Monazard, the Minister of Trade and Industry, this week inaugurated the Fire and Rescue Center of the Industrial Park of the National Company of Industrial Parks (SONAPI).

This modern center is well equipped to respond quickly to emergencies, was set up to ensure the security of the infrastructure and the thousands of people who frequent this Park daily.

In his speech, Minister Monazard, also Chairman of the Board of Directors of SONAPI, stressed the importance of this initiative, which demonstrates a desire not to give in to the country's security challenges, but rather to overcome them through work and the implementation of concrete solutions.

Monazard stressed the importance of prevention and rapid response capacity in terms of security, as key elements to protect people, property and investments at the industrial park.

In addition to strengthening security, the Fire and Rescue Center represents an employment opportunity for young people. The center will also welcome trained and graduated firefighters to respond effectively to emergencies. The Minister stressed that this project offers an opportunity for professional integration for many young people, guiding them towards a noble and essential career, based on commitment, service to the community and self-sacrifice.

As part of this inauguration, 24 young people received technical training in firefighting, property protection and environmental protection. The Minister praised the dedication of the trainers and young recipients, who worked tirelessly to complete their training and make the center fully operational.

This gesture of courage and determination, according to him, is exemplary and reflects the spirit of public service necessary to meet current challenges.
