Haiti - PNH report : 15 dead, 13 arrests, weapons and ammunition seized (Video)

Friday, August 16, 2024, Divisional Commissioner Michel Ange Louis Jeune, Spokesperson for the Haitian National Police (PNH), at a press conference, gave an overview of the PNH operations carried out from Monday, August 12 to Friday to August 16, 2024.

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, following surveillance, 5 individuals were fatally injured in exchanges of fire with special PNH units, including Casalès Blanco, alias "Gwo Fanfan", a prison escapee, active member of the "Viv Ansanm" armed gang alliance and owner of the "Anvayi" hotel located in Carrefour-Rita (commune of Tabarre) who was in the company of 3 police officers affiliated with the "400 Mawozo" gang at the time of the intervention...

In addition to these facts, during this same period, 13 arrests were made, 6 firearms, 195 cartridges, 15 magazines, 3 vehicles, 7 mobile phones and 1 boat were confiscated.

It should be noted that a police officer involved in these operations was shot and is currently receiving treatment as required.

On the same day, the PNH arrested two journalists Banatte Daniel and Richelson Cenejuste, who were on board a white Toyota Land Cruiser, registered SE-06202. A Ruger rifle, two pistols, 15 cartridges, two mobile phones and more than 10,000 Gourdes were found in their possession and confiscated.

At the same time, the Nippes Police confiscated 5.5 kg of cocaine and 4.4 kg of marijuana on board a boat named "Destiny", three people were also arrested. These are Claudy Joseph (24 years old), Jeannot Orelien (25) and Fritzner Celaus (45).

Finally, in the South-East department, the PNH proceeded to destroy a marijuana field of about half a square, in the locality of Bois Codène, in the communal section of Baie d'Orange, commune Belle-Anse.
