Haiti - Politic : Review of the Minister of Sports' stay in France

Friday, August 2nd, 2024, during a press briefing Niola Lynn Sarah Dévalis Octavius, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) gave a positive assessment of her stay in Paris as part of the Olympic Games.

Minister Octavius ​​reported having had fruitful discussions with the Haitian community in Paris, which she raised awareness of the priority areas of the Government's policy.

Octavius ​​also spoke about her advocacy at the UNESCO podium for Physical and Sports Education (EPS).

The terms of this technical cooperation with OL femmes and the formalization of partnership agreements with Taiwan remain to be defined.

She also informed that she was able to meet several investors in Paris who demanded legal provisions in the field of sport in Haiti.

The Minister praised the efforts of the Presidential Transitional Council and the Haitian Government who have provided support to the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH) and the National Paralympic Committee of Haiti (CNPH). She also thanked them in advance for their future support, through her Ministry, for the federations that will be involved in upcoming international competitions.

Minister Octavius ​​finally took advantage of this press briefing to thank the staff of the diplomatic mission in Paris who organized a welcome cocktail in honor of the Haitian delegation aimed at motivating and congratulating the Haitian athletes who made enormous sacrifices in order to participate in these games. She also met the Grenadières playing in the French D1 while encouraging them to remain role models for the youth of Haiti.
