Niola Lynn Sarah Devalis Octavius, Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, met this week in Paris with a large Taiwanese delegation led by the Minister of Education in charge of Sports, Cheng Ying-Yao.

During fruitful discussions, Minister Octavius ​​negotiated an increase in the number of scholarships awarded annually by Taiwan to Haiti.

Starting in 2025, the number of scholarships will increase from 20 (currently) to 40 per year, including 20 scholarships for the first cycle and 20 for the second cycle.

In addition, talks were initiated around a 2-year short-cycle training project on sports professions for several young Haitians.

Minister Octavius ​​took the opportunity to renew the commitment of the Haitian State, through her Ministry, to strengthen Haitian-Taiwanese cooperation.
