Haiti - FLASH : Notice of eviction from the streets of downtown Port-au-Prince

The Ministry of Public Works, within the framework of the application of the Order of July 17, 2024 on the State of Security Emergency in 14 communes of the departments of the West and Artibonite https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42832-haiti-security-municipalities-and-localities-affected-by-the-state-of-emergency-list.html and, the Government of the Republic reminds the occupants, particularly, of the streets of the Downtown of Port-au-Prince, that by Order of the Moniteur #86 of Friday, June 1str, 2012, were declared of Public Utility.

The properties included in the area starting from the intersection of the Axis of Harry Truman Boulevard and the Axis of Joseph Janvier Street, the demarcation line along the Axis of Joseph Janvier Street to the Axis of Magasin de l'Etat Street, in an easterly direction, following the Axis of Magasin de l'Etat Street, in a northerly direction to the middle of the block located between the Axis of St Honoré Street and the Axis of Champ de Mars Street, the line on the Axis of d'Hennery Street to de l'Enterrement Street, for the construction of public institution buildings destroyed by the earthquake of January 12, 2010 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11362-haiti-reconstruction-new-downtown-the-government-rejects-the-accusations-of-the-opposition.html and https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3558-haiti-reconstruction-3-3-billion-for-a-new-port-au-prince.html

As for potential owners who have not yet been compensated, but are forced to abandon, they are reminded to theme of the obligation to provide the appropriate titles to finalize the process of their pending compensation.

Consequently, any occupant of these streets, divided into three (3) blocks, is requested to vacate the premises within eight (8) clear days from the publication of this press release.
