Haiti - Contest : A Haitian woman wins the RFI / AUF Prize for young writing

The jury of the RFI / AUF Prize for young writings, chaired by Annie Lulu, Romanian-Congolese author, nominated Taïna Fleury, student in social communication at the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) of the State University of Haiti (UEH), winner of the 6th edition, for her short story entitled "Perejil". Her text was distinguished by its great literary quality.

For this 6th edition, participants had to write a fiction in French of 8,000 characters maximum, starting with the sentence: "Is it up to me to be an old woman to teach you courage ?", taken from the novel "Paine des Faunes" by Annie Lulu, Ecology Novel Prize 2023. This year, 222 young authors took up the challenge by submitting their stories.

Intended to encourage the writing of short stories in French, this competition is aimed at young French-speaking people from around the world aged 18 to 29 and registered in one of the AUF member establishments or at the "École de Management of the Francophonie" (ESFAM).

The Audience Prize was awarded to Baldur Adjaï, for his short story "Noir, notre ciel". This text received 579 votes, standing out among the 10 finalist works (themselves selected from the 222 stories submitted this year). This 6th edition generated a total of 1,436 votes.

The Embassy of Haiti in France extends its warm congratulations to Haitian student Taïna Fleury for winning the 6th edition of the RFI-AUF Prize for young writing https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-42507-icihaiti-literary-competition-participate-in-the-6th-edition-of-the-rfi-auf-prize-for-young-writings.html for his text Perejil..
