2 divisional inspectors shot dead

Thursday July 4, 2024, two divisional police inspectors, Lozama Télémaque and Yves Nord, assigned to the General Security Unit of the National Palace, were shot dead in the neighborhood of Arcachon 32, Street Genêt, commune of Carrefour by unidentified individuals, who took away the lifeless bodies of their victims.

France : Training of Haitian soldiers

Jean Marc Berthier Antoine, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Haiti, had a productive meeting with the Ambassador of France to Haiti, Fabrice Mauriès. We discussed a Memorandum of Understanding in defense matters, the upcoming sending of Haitian officers to French territory for training, and the arrival of French trainers in Haiti.

New SWAT command

This week, Inspector General Jean Marest Étienne, Director of Personnel of the Haitian National Police (PNH), carried out the installation ceremony of the new SWAT commander, Divisional Commissioner Donald Michel. He replaces Chief Commissioner Richardson Mersan in this position.

On Wednesday July 3rd, 2024, Prime Minister Garry Conille met with Joyce Msuya, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, also Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Joyce Msuya praised Garry Conille's "unwavering commitment" to the Haitian people and told him that he can count on OCHA to support Haiti at every stage of the transition process.

PNH : New Spokesperson

Friday July 5, 2024, Inspector General Péyo Smith, Chief of Staff of the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH, proceeded to the installation of Divisional Commissioner Michel Ange Louis Jeune as the new Spokesperson of the police institution. He replaces Police Commissioner Garry Desrosiers in this position, who is transferred to the Directorate of Strategic Planning and Development.
