Haiti - NOTICE : CMA CGM increases rates for cargoes destined for Haiti

The French maritim shipping company CMA CGM announced that it would apply a supplement for additional risk coverage to all goods destined for Haiti, regardless of their origin. The measure is now effective and will remain in force "until further notice".

"Given the security situation prevailing in Haiti, where we have maintained regular services, CMA CGM has decided to implement a supplement for additional coverage of risks at destination," the company indicated.

In this way, a surcharge of 200 USD per "Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit" (TEU) for dry goods and 450 USD per TEU for refrigerated goods will be applied.

The range of destinations includes Lafito, Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haitien.

"Fuel-related surcharges, THC Terminal Handling Charges (origin and destination) and safety and security surcharges may also apply," the company concluded.
