Cap-Haitien : Seizure of ammunition

Tuesday June 11, 2024, the inspection of a container coming from the United States allowed customs officers to proceed on Tuesday June 11, 2024 to the seizure of 10 9 mm magazines, 157 cartridges including 100 of 9 mm caliber, 50 of 38 and 7 of 12 gauge.

Distribution of non-food items in 6 sites

Some 11,000 displaced people, living in 6 sites, received tarpaulins to improve their living conditions in the shelters and protect them from the natural elements. Families residing in these sites also benefited from the distribution of non-food items such as : blankets, jerry cans, cooking kits and solar lamps through the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Acute and severe malnutrition affects children

From June 1st to 7, WFP allocated more than $1 million as part of its social protection and resilience activities to approximately 65,000 people across the country. During this period. Health teams screened 2,593 children under five for acute malnutrition; 140 children suffering from severe acute malnutrition were treated in health centers and mobile clinics.

Anti-Corruption : Call for strengthening international cooperation

At the 15th session of the Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the 18th session of the Working Group on Asset Recovery, held in Austria from June 10 to 14, 2024. Jacques Ludwig Joseph Director General of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) LCC in his intervention launched a call for the strengthening of international cooperation in the fight against corruption.
