The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) through the Directorate of Basic Education has published the model for the official basic 9th grade exam for the year 2024.

What is new are four new disciplines which will be in the official exams this year. These disciplines are aesthetic and artistic education (EEA), physical and sports education (EPS), technological education and productive activities (ETAP) and citizenship education (EC).

The Ministry recalls that these four subjects had been included in the basic school curriculum since the 1980s with the Bernard Reform. Effective teaching of these subjects in schools was made impossible for various reasons, such as the ministry's detailed curriculum had not yet been developed and expert teachers in these fields were not available in sufficient numbers. With the ninth project "New Citizen Education Oriented towards the Future" (NECTAR), the Ministry has developed a new program for the third basic cycle which includes all the disciplines provided for by the Dernard Reform.

The Ministry reminds all school principals, students, parents and the rest of the educational community that the evaluation of students in the four new subjects is a pilot experiment and that these subjects will not prevent the student success.

Sharing exam models, particularly for new subjects, aims to help teachers and students prepare better. The exam texts will be presented on two sheets of 8 1/2 × 14. The models can be downloaded below.
