After the former Presidents Prosper Avril, Jean Bertrand Aristide, Jean Claude Duvalier and Boniface Alexandre and the former General-President Henry Namphy, the President Martelly visited yesterday Monday, November 14, 2011, the former Haitian head of state René Préval in his private residence, to Laboule in the hills of Petion-Ville.

A visit included in the process of national reconciliation advocated by the head of state, since he took office: reconcile the Haitian nation with his son, serving with the experience of former heads of state to arrive at useful purposes and beneficial for the Haitian people.

The President of the Republic and the former President Préval discussed of a set of priorities, including road infrastructure, the solution to energy problems, accessibility, free and quality education. For René Préval, this approach is remarkable, he promised to be available to the President of the Republic for a fruitful collaboration in the interests of Haiti.

The President who was accompanied by the First Lady, Ms. Sophia Martelly, has invited the couple Préval to visit the National Palace. Once there, they could see the work already done and in progress, and the structure put in place for the operation of the institution.

The President Martelly continues to believe that the only way to allow Haiti to take the path of sustainable development is to bring together all the son and daughters of the country around a frank and sincere dialogue and to involve them directly in the change as desired by the people of Haiti.
