As part of the realization of the vision of the President of the Republic of creating sustainable development through local initiatives and the decentralized cooperation, Me Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior, of Territorial Collectivities and National Defense went last Sunday to Jérémie [capital city of the department of Grand'Anse].

During this tour, the Minister visited several parts of the city, including the most disadvantaged and spoke freely with the public to better understand their specific needs.

The Minister of Interior also met Mgr. Gontran Décoste, the Bishop of Jérémie. The prelate explained the major concerns of the various parishes and and has particular emphasis on the need to modernize the agriculture, fish farming and develop the tourism sector. An approach that could be conducive to employment, said the Minister.
