Tuesday in the middle of the day, June 4th, 2024, heavily armed individuals threatened the driver of a tanker truck in Delmas 3 to divert towards Delmas 18.

A second tanker truck, near the Airport Crossroads, was also the victim of an attempted hijacking. The arrival of an armored vehicle from the Haitian National Police who came to prevent the hijacking of this second truck triggered a shooting, the bandits then targeted the tanker truck, hitting it with several projectiles, causing the truck to catch fire near the Airport Crossroads and general panic

Although this tanker fire did not cause any casualties, the damage was considerable to the merchants who were on the side of the road, where all their goods went up in smoke.

Merchants ruined in just a few minutes are calling for help from the authorities, demanding urgent attention to be able to overcome this new ordeal.
