The Ministry of National Education, via its Directorate of Fundamental Education (DEF), is organizing, in Delmas, a three-day workshop (May 28 to Thursday, May 30, 2024), bringing together around a hundred technicians who work on the texts exams for students who are preparing to take part in the official 9th ​​Fundamental Year (A.F.) and those of the Family Education Centers (CEF) exams.

There are 11 supervisors, 54 developers, 11 proofreaders, 11 secretaries and around fifteen DEF executives involved in this harmonization workshop, which is very important in the process of developing exam texts.

According to Kendy Nicolas, Director of Fondamental Education, the 2023-2024 school year is proving particularly difficult in terms of learning time, mainly in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince and in certain municipalities of Artibonite.

It is important to see together with these technicians, accustomed to the development of exam texts, how to take into account, with regard to instructions, school reality and at the same time propose relevant and standardized exam texts, obviously meeting the principles and standards already set.

Through this approach, the Ministry wants to ensure that all people involved in this work chain have a single, clear and precise orientation of what they are going to do in terms of developing these exam texts which must, despite meticulous considerations, fully embrace the program.

Kendy Nicolas says he expects, at the end of this activity, the production of a model examination text for each discipline, including the four new disciplines, namely: Education in technology and productive activities (ETAP), Aesthetic and Artistic Education (EEA), Physical and Sports Education (EPS), Citizenship Education (EC). These exam models will be available on the ministry's website, but also via other means, available to all students so that they can get an idea in advance of the prototype texts that will be available to them. will be offered.

"The Ministry wants these exams to be concise, clear, coherent and accessible to all participants, but above all subject to psychometric and educational criteria," underlined Kendy Nicolas

Let's remember that the 9th fundamental year exams will take place from July 22 to 24, 2024.
