Haiti - Installation of the CPT : Rain of international reactions (Part 1)
White House :
Thursday April 25, 2024, the White House welcomed the swearing-in of the Presidential Transitional Council on Thursday, calling it major progress towards the holding of elections. "Today marks a crucial step towards free and fair elections."

Ambassador of the United States :
The United States Ambassador to Haiti Hankins said he was happy to attend the installation ceremony of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT). He congratulates the members of the CPT for having worked together to achieve this important milestone for the Haitian people. Ambassador Hankins looks forward to presenting his credentials to the CPT soon.

Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols said : "The swearing-in of members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) represents a critical step in Haiti's return to inclusive governance. We commend all participants for their commitment to seeking compromise and working together to improve the lives of all Haitians.

BINUH :
"The installation of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT), Thursday April 25, is a new opportunity to move forward towards the reestablishment of democratic institutions. The United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti remains fully committed to supporting the country's authorities in their efforts to create an environment of social peace, safe and conducive to the organization of credible, participatory and inclusive elections," United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH)

European Union :
"The swearing in of members of the Presidential Transitional Council is an important step that allows the political transition process to move forward. To support this, the multinational security support mission in Haiti should now be deployed as soon as possible," Peter Stano, EU Principal Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs.

"Installation of the Presidential Transitional Council with constituted bodies, diplomatic corps and sectors of the CARICOM Kingston Agreement. A working meeting followed with the diplomatic corps. “Canada welcomes the inauguration of the Transitional Presidential Council. This Collegial Council of National Unity is an important step in restoring security and democracy in Haiti. Embassy of Taiwan :
"The installation of the Presidential Transitional Council represents a significant turning point for the political life of Haiti, representing a crucial step towards the restoration of constitutional institutions [...] We are engaged in a closer relationship in order to support Haiti in its journey of national development."

Chancellery Mexico :
Alicia Bárcena, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, declared "At this crucial moment, we underline the commitment of Haitian political actors, accompanied by the international community, to find solutions to the political crisis.
