Haiti - Politic : Antony Blinken announces an additional $100M for the PNH Support Mission

Monday March 11, 2024, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, addressing the CARICOM emergency conference in Kingston, Jamaica on the transition in Haiti, announced that the United States would dedicate an additional $100 million to the next multinational mission to support the Haitian National Police (PNH) in its fight against gangs, as well as immediate humanitarian aid of $33 million, which would bring the total of United States pledges for the Mission at 300 million and more than 420 million the total amount promised by different countries including the USA https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41729-haiti-security-at-least-$320m-already-promised-by-the-international-for-the-intervention-mission-in-haiti.html

Canada, whose Prime Minister Justin Trudeau participated in the talks by videoconference, had previously offered more than 91 million US dollars for Haiti. Other countries that have announced financial or logistical contributions include Benin, France, Germany, Jamaica and Spain, according to U.S. officials.
