A senior Biden administration official said the latest estimate from the Office of Management and Budget puts the cost of the mission at $515 million to $600 million over two years. But he stressed that the precise cost depends on final operational plans and needs on the ground. The mission also needs equipment and perhaps additional men. For now, the mission is expected to include 2,500 troops from Kenya, Jamaica, the Bahamas and other countries in the Caribbean and Africa.
