Haiti - Insecurity : The Dominican army has installed posts fortified with machine gun on the border

The Dominican Minister of Defense, Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, announced, during a tour in Dajabón, that the border had been reinforced with more equipment and soldiers, measures that will remain in force as long as necessary.

"We have reinforced, there are more materials and men as needed and if necessary we have more men and equipment..."

Due to the violent events that recently occurred in Ouanminthe which caused concern on the Dominican side, the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (CESFront) erected two fortified posts equipped with M60 machine guns (caliber 7.62 × 51 mm NATO , firing capacity of 9 bullets per second with a practical range of 1.1 km) which point in the direction of Ouanminthe a preventive measure, to deal with any eventuality...

The first fortified machine gun post is positioned in the military complex of the Battle of Sabana Larga of Cesfront and the second machine gun post was built on the west side of the perimeter fence in Dominican territory, not far from the water intake of the La Vigia canal.
