Haiti - FITUR 2024 : The Minister of Tourism praises the attractions of Haiti

After more than a decade of absence, Haiti is back at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, the 2nd largest tourism fair in the world. Haiti is trying to regain its place in major world events where professionals decide the future of tourism in the world.

To this end, a Haitian delegation led by the Minister of Tourism, Luz Kurta Cassandra François is participating from January 24 to 28, 2024 in this important event. Should be noted that Haiti, thanks to funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), has a stand among the 9,000 exhibitors and 152 countries present, a stand which sells the best attractions of its tourist product.

Minister François proposes Haiti as "The soul of the Caribbean" particularly from the North tourist pole, in the world catalog of tourist destinations in the Caribbean region. Haiti is sending a signal that it remains a Caribbean tourist destination in its own right which awaits tourists and potential investors in this sector...

Luz Kurta Cassandra François has included in her agenda press conferences with Spanish media, meetings with cruise lines, marketing agencies and will take the opportunity of the show to speak with representatives of the World Organization of Tourism (OMT) with the aim of capitalizing on investment opportunities in Haiti, necessary for the increase in tourist activities despite the crisis context.

During a press briefing, Minister François took stock of the relaunch of tourist activities in Haiti explaining "The country is still banking on tourism (all types of tourism) particularly from a multi-destination with other countries in the northern region of Haiti more stable at the moment. Certainly we have problems like any other country [!], but we believe that with tourism development and prosperity is possible and the Government is working to restore stability and security throughout the country declared Luz Kurta Cassandra François to the microphones of journalists.
