Haiti - Education : The strengthening of school libraries across the country continues

The 80/20 initiative aimed at creating and/or strengthening school libraries/media libraries nationwide continues https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41082-haiti-education-towards-libraries-in-public-and-private-schools-in-the-country.html

Let's remember that as part of a Public/Private partnership, the 80/20 initiative, article 3.2 of the agreement stipulates that for every 100 books, the State buys 80 while the publishing houses part of the Okay, will give away 20 for free.

The Vision Nouvelle institution (Delmas 33) and the Republic of Guatemala National School (Pétion-ville) received batches of books, as part of this partnership between the Ministry of National Education and publishing houses of the place https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-41221-haiti-libraries-public-private-partnership-between-the-ministry-of-education-and-publishers.html

These two book delivery ceremonies to these educational institutions, involving Maison C3 Éditions and Maison Henri Deschamps, were chaired, one after the other, by the Minister of National Education Nesmy Manigat, two occasions for the Minister to emphasize, once again, the importance of reading in academic performance "It is always with great emotion that I take part in these activities. It is extremely important for our children to stay connected to books and reading. Reading is the first skill that children must master to better acquire knowledge. This is why the Ministry has dedicated the year 2024 to reading."

"You must bring the book to life in your learning but also in your life," added the Minister, addressing the students who were accompanied by teaching and administrative staff.

Under the terms of this partnership, Maison C3 Editions and Maison Henri Deschamps have chosen to donate, on behalf of the Ministry, several hundred books to these two schools. The Vision Nouvelle Institution library received around 500 works from Maison C3 éditions: novels, poetry, short stories, and essays from several thematic categories (history, economics, politics, etc.), while Maison Henri Deschamps delivered at the Republic of Guatemala national school, mini-mobile libraries containing 504 books, produced mainly for leisure reading.
