Haiti - Energy : $57 million for a solar energy project 10/01/2024 05:28:38 The project involves the construction and operation of a solar power plant (12 MW) and an energy storage system (10 MWh) to supply electricity to the Caracol industrial park for a period of five years. The project is valued at $57 million. This is a stable project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank. The Haiti solar project is the first project that Ssangyong E&C has won with the support and synergy of the Global Sae-A group after becoming its main shareholder. This is Ssangyong E&C’s first foray into the Caribbean/Latin American construction market. Ssangyong E&C expects this project to be a beachhead for future expansion in Latin America, including Costa Rica, Dominica, Guatemala and Nicaragua, where Global Sae-A has a presence. Since its establishment in 1977, Ssangyong E&C has won 186 projects (worth $13.1 billion) in 22 overseas countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the United States, Japan and Africa. "The Haiti solar project is a project that has achieved the twin goals of exploring new markets and participating in new businesses through the support and cooperation of group companies. Based on this, Ssangyong E&C will actively pursue renewable and eco-friendly businesses at home and abroad," said an official from Ssangyong E&C. HL/ HaitiLibre
