Faithful kidnapped in a church

Several faithful were kidnapped on the night of November 30 to December 1, 2023 from inside the Notre-Dame de Fatima church, in Petite-Rivière de l'Artibonite, while they were participating in a night vigil. The "Grand grif" Savien gang would be responsible for these kidnappings according to Bertide Horace, spokesperson for civil society in Artibonite.

Argentina : Graduation of 4 health professionals

The Ambassador of Haiti to Argentina Vilbert BELIZAIRE, accompanied by the Minister Counselor, Jean Claude CENATUS, participated Friday, December 1, 2023 in the graduation ceremony, at the Naval School of the Republic of Argentina, of a second cohort of 4 Haitian professionals including 3 doctors and 1 psychologist (Ruben LOLO, Sherline CHATEAU, Catherine PIERRE and Odley ACCILOR) Back in Haiti they will join the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H).

HIV : highest prevalence rate in the Caribbean

"In Haiti, between 2010 and 2022, new HIV infections decreased by 21%, and AIDS-related deaths fell by nearly 75%. These figures are a remarkable step forward and an inspiring example," says Maria Isabel Salvador, Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) which advocates the elimination of discrimination against people living with HIV. Despite the decrease in new infections, Haiti has the highest prevalence rate in the Caribbean region, and the epidemic remains feminized with a prevalence rate of 2.1% among women compared to 1.3% among men.

Call for a political agreement before February 7, 2024

Around thirty political parties and social organizations grouped within the "Protocol of October 17: towards a Haitian transition for Haitians" are calling for the conclusion of an inclusive political agreement, before February 7, 2024, under the auspices of CARICOM, the country's Universities, Religions for Peace and the private business sector. They plead in favor of the reestablishment of a two-headed executive power.
