Release of a 2-year-old hostage

The national police in the Nord department carried out last weekend the release of a 2-year-old child kidnapped on October 9 in the town of Saint-Raphaël. The kidnappers were to receive a ransom of 600,000 gourdes the same day to release him. 4 suspects were arrested and two others wanted in connection with this case, informs the spokesperson for the PNH in the North, divisional inspector Harold Jean.

School infrastructure covered with excrement

On the night of Sunday October 15 to Monday October 16, 2023, the walls of several Jérémie educational establishments: Lycée Nord Alexis, the Beraca Educational Center, the Collège Saint-Louis de Jérémie, Danilou, the Lycée des Jeunes Filles, the Mixed Classical Institution of Musketeers were smeared with human excrement. Boundary marking of the Bois Caïman site

"I am happy to announce, on October 17, which marks the 217th year of the death of Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines, that the Government carried out, during the month of September, the demarcation of the Bois site Cayman [...] This boundary paves the way for various projects, including the construction of the Museum of Slavery in Haiti" said Acting Prime Minister Ariel Henry. Recognized as being of public utility by decree dated August 20, 1998, Bois-Caïman belongs to the national and universal heritage, consecration of the centuries-old struggle of all Maroon slaves.

Les Cayes : Ultimatum to street and sidewalk vendors

In order to restore order in the street, the Mayor of Les Cayes, the Paquet and the Police came together to issue a press release, which demands that all small sellers, motorcycle businesses, garages which invade the sidewalks and the street, have until October 20 to vacate these spaces.
