Haiti - FLASH : Pastor «Marco» summoned by Justice for the Canaan massacre

The Fondasyon Je Klere (FJKL) notes with bitterness the painful events that occurred in the Canaan area on Saturday, August 26, where dozens of Protestant faithful responding to the call of their pastor were massacred, injured or kidnapped https://www. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40355-haiti-flash-a-faithful-march-against-the-canaan-gang-ended-in-a-bloodbath-video.html

This march organized by the Evangelical Piscine Church of Bethesda led by Pastor Marcorel ZIDOR alias "Pastor Marco" was preceded by a pastoral speech advocating violence, calling on citizens to arm each other against others in order to disrupt armed gangs through violence.

These calls for violence in order to bring citizens to replace the forces of order have multiplied lately in the total indifference of the established authorities who let society go to its decline.

The FJKL recalls that bringing citizens to arm themselves against each other, provoking violence in pastoral speeches are criminal acts provided for and punished by the Haitian Penal Code from 3 to 15 years in prison.

"It is time to enforce the law. Those who by their speech provoked this massacre as the perpetrators of this massacre must answer for their actions."

The FJKL, while presenting its sympathy to the parents of the victims, hopes that justice will be ruthless against the perpetrators and accomplices of this massacre. Enough is enough !"

Last minute: In reaction to this massacre, according to several concordant (unofficial) sources, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of First Instance of Croix-des-Bouquets, would have summoned Pastor Marco to respond to accusations of murder and complicity in murder.
