Friday, August 18, 2023, the Embassy of Taiwan (Republic of China) proceeded during a ceremony, to the presentation of certificates to 23 new Haitian scholarship recipients of the scholarship program of the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and the International Higher education scholarship program-International Cooperation Agency (ICDF).

These 23 new scholarship holders bring to 290 the total number of Haitian beneficiaries since 1998, within the framework of this bilateral cooperation between Haiti and Taiwan. They are preparing to go to Taiwan to follow their higher education for 3, 4 to 5 years and claim to want to return to the country in order to participate in the development of Haiti with their new knowledge.

In his speech, the Ambassador of Taiwan Wen Jiann Ku declared "This is an opportunity for me to underline the continuous execution of the scholarship file that Taiwan manages to offer to Haitian students, while guaranteeing an education of quality for them, in order to enrich the Taiwanese-Haitian bilateral cooperation in education" and congratulated the beneficiaries for having been selected and admitted among many other candidates.
