Reprisals in Liancourt

On Sunday July 23, bandits from Savien attacked Liancourt (Artibonite Dept.) in retaliation for the death of one of their own, a victim of the "Bwa Kale" movement. The toll is heavy in the population, at least 3 dead, many injured, at least 4 people kidnapped and a dozen houses burned.

A police officer wounded by bullets

Sunday July 23 in Vivy Mtchel the policeman Dimitri St. Louis (24th promotion) received 2 bullets, when he was ambushed near the police station and bandits opened fire on the police car. The police officer was taken to a hospital to review the care that his condition requires.

Cap-Haitien : New Chief Prosecutor

Me Edouard Charles Durand was installed as new Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Cap-Haitien. In his remarks for the occasion, the new Chief Prosecutor promised to fight prolonged pretrial detention in his jurisdiction.
