Pierre L. Opont, former President of the CEP kidnapped

Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in the evening, Pierre Louis Opont, former President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in 2015, was kidnapped in Tabarre by heavily armed men, as he was preparing to return to his home. More and more Haitians are giving birth in the DR

Approximately 14,745 births of children to Haitian mothers were registered in public hospitals in the Dominican Republic during the period from January to June 2023. The number of Haitian children born in the neighboring country continues to increase/ For the same period, 28.3% (2021) of Haitian births were recorded (out of all births in the Dominican Republic), 30.8% (in 2022) and 33.6% (in 2023). COH rewards Aliyah Shipman

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO - Haiti) and the Ministry of Agriculture are launching a Technical Cooperation Program to fight against the white mealybug and the Coconut Rhinoceros. Objective: to protect the coconut palms in the departments of the West and the Nippes. The FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture are preparing a control manual and a national control plan against the white mealybug in order to strengthen the integrated management of pests in collaboration with the Ministry.
