Haiti - Education : Paid remedial courses forbidden in public schools

The Ministry of National Education informs the persons in charge of the Departmental Direction of Education, the schools principals, the Committee of the parents of pupils, the school councils, the associations of parents of pupils, all parents and pupils, that it is forbidden to organize remedial courses against remuneration in public schools (national schools or high schools).

The Ministry denounces this practice where the teachers who must give lessons are not present in the classrooms while organizing remedial lessons for the students. The Ministry also denounces the behavior of certain teachers who do not come to provide services in public schools when they go to teach in private schools.

Every teacher has the right to protest when they are not satisfied. But he also has a duty to render services, especially for children in public schools who have already lost many school days, due to the situation in the country.

The Ministry appeals to the professional conscience and sense of responsibility of teachers who win and do not serve. He asks them once again to provide services to the children to help them prepare for the end-of-year exams.

The Ministry takes this opportunity to remind you that it has launched a remedial course for students who will take the State exams (9th year and 4th year). These courses are offered FOR FREE in many public schools and departments.
