Haiti - FLASH : Ambush, 2 armored vehicles burned, 1 policeman killed 1 other injured

In a note, the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) condemns with the utmost rigor the attack perpetrated against police patrols in Titanyen, on the night of May 17 to 18, 2023 where two armored vehicles (INKAS) of the PNH were ambushed on National Road #1, at Source-Matelas, then set on fire by Molotov cocktails thrown by heavily armed individuals from Canaan.

During this attack, a police officer Roberto Charleston (22nd Promotion) of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) was fatally injured and another member of UDMO West 2 was injured.

In this circumstance, 4the General Directorate of the PNH presents its sympathies to the large police family, to the parents and relatives of this victim police officer in the performance of his duties.

This criminal act will not remain unpunished. Thus, the actions already taken by the High Command to track down and apprehend the bandits continue, while urging, once again, his brothers in arms to close ranks in this fight and not to be intimidated."
